Breakfast at the farm.

Our German hostess doesn't understand a word of what we say to her. I think she just likes to talk because she never stops talking and we just look at her quizzically not knowing what she is saying.
Take note of the hand carved dining chairs.

Farm stay

We are living above the farm animals. What a hoot. This is not for everyone. Just us that like to submerge ourselves with the local customs. The owners are on the main floor just left of the animals.

Diane trying on the local hat. The unmarried women wear the red bolenhet and the married women wear the black bolenhet.See pictures of local dress that can be purchased in a catalog.

Just a few more shots worth sharing with you.

Berg Eltz along the Moselle.

Believe it or not, this castle has been in the Eltz family for 33 generations. They live in another castle and this is their holiday home. Not Kidding Either!

Rhine River

Today we took off for the Black Forest. We hopped on a River cruise on the Rhine River. We got on in St. Goar and went to Bacharach then returned to St. Goar.  We then picked up our car and drove to the Black Forest. Wait till you see this place. Pictures will come tomorrow. For now enjoy the Rhine.
